Happy Easter

As always we were missing a chick in the nest but still had a lovely Easter weekend.

KJ totally managed to surprise me on Good Friday afternoon.  I had spoken with her on the phone Thursday evening and never even thought she'd make the trip out to the coast on Friday.  I left the office around 2 PM and took a quick little nap while I was waiting for Coach to get home when the garage door opened.  I jumped up to say, "Hi Hon!" and quickly realized it wasn't my Hon!  It was so nice for her to fly into John Wayne versus her usual LAX.  So much, much closer!

Friday night we took her to one of our favorite little spots in Old Town Tustin, Centro.  It's a cute wood-fire pizza place with meat and cheese boards, a nice wine list and good deserts.  Saturday she was able to snag a hair appointment with Stacey and when she got home we had lunch at Downtown Disney and walked around in the sunshine.  After Disney we drove down to the coast and caught the ferry to Balboa Island for a couple of Balboa bars.  Easter Sunday we had brunch at the Mayor's Table at the Lido House in Newport.  The menu was delicious.  After brunch Coach and KJ went to the beach while I tackled some laundry.  Monday the two of them had a blast at Universal Studios while I had a teeth cleaning.  Doesn't seem very fair, does it??

Capes, Corsets & Color

There was plenty of capes, sheer corsets and lots of color on the champagne carpet at the 95th Annual Academy awards held last night at the Dolby Theater.  The men also stepped up their game with bold accessories including lapel brooches and detailing.

Melissa McCarthy deserves better than this!

I love the Barbie pink color but this ballgown looks a little "prom" to me.

I just don't know if this screams "Oscars" to me.

New Year !!!

Happy belated New Year!  We celebrated in a very chill, cool manner.  I think we made it to midnight (Eastern time!).  Sunday and Monday we relaxed and took down our Christmas décor.

We're only 10 days into the month of January and it's already been super duper busy for us.  The Stars were in town to play the LA Kings on the 3rd and the Anaheim Ducks on the 4th (both losses for the Stars) but we had a great time at each game and had awesome seats.  I then flew out to AZ for a work event on Friday and came home on Sunday. Tonight Coach has tixs to the Dallas Mavs vs. Clippers game.

Last night we went to the National Championship game @ SoFi with friends from Dallas.  Holy cow!  What an incredible experience.   The stadium was positively humming at the beginning of the game but it quickly went downhill for TCU fans.  It never ever rains in SoCal but the weather last night was terribly ugly so nobody tailgated in the parking lots.  But they were definitely tailgating inside the stadium.  We were there 2 hours before the game and people were totally hammered at 2:30 in the afternoon.  Coach bought our tixs online and we were the only bright spots of purple in a sea of red Bulldog fans.  It was a little awkward but fortunately no one was super mean to us.
