Snow Alert (and by that I mean KJ)

I have a feeling my youngest child has plans to wake up every hour on the hour to check on the snow situation and she fully intends to notify the occupants of this house when such an meteorogical event of this magnitude should occur.
KJ my luv, this blog is 4 u!

'08 ain't all that Great

2008 isn't turning out to be so hot after all. First the dog and now today T came home w/ a weird rash all over her stomach and groin area. She doesn't have anything on her face, nothing on her back, arms or legs. Don't think it's chicken pox, don't think it's hives, don't think it's fifth's disease. She's not itching, doesn't have a fever or sore throat. Pediatrician said to watch it tonight, make sure it doesn't turn into pus-filled blisters; then it MAY be the pox. She did have an extremely mild case of chicken pox was she was 3 1/2 in Cincy and she has NOT had the vaccination (KJ has). Seriously folks. I don't need this shit a week before she's supposed to leave for Chicago for a photo shoot.

a little retail therapy never hurt . . . .

Just bought this dress on BanannaRepublic.com for our trip to Cabo. I never knew they carried petite sizes and I really liked the color; thought it would be a nice departure from my usual black. Now, if I only had this chick's legs ....

Thank God It's Friday.

Are we really supposed to be getting some snow? I don't read the paper and the last couple of nights I haven't watched the news; too busy catching up on TiVo. I know they've already cancelled the girls softball "ratings" for Saturday morning. Wow. That would be sweet.

Not much to write about just yet. It's too early in the morning. I've barely finished my pop tart and my cup of tea. I have put in a load of jeans already.

I put KJ to bed very, very early last night. Mrs. S had to have "the talk" w/ KJ yesterday in class. Mrs. S told her she's too smart to not participate/pay attention in class. Mrs. S said since returning from Christmas break, KJ's been very out of it and looks like she needs a nap. KJ eats a good breakfast before school, the problem is she doesn't get up well in the morning and she is very restless at night and has a very hard time falling asleep. Hmmmm??? Sound familiar?? I think we need to make yoga part of our evening routine for both of our sakes. Also, if daddy has a meeting or a late flight home, KJ wants to stay awake until she knows he's home safe and sound. So, even if I put her to bed at 8, 8:30 PM, the little stinker is up in her room forcing herself to stay awake until Chris walks in the door.

Other than cleaning and laundry I don't have anywhere to be today. Yay! Think I'll start decorating for Valentine's day.

Yet another false lead

Poor KJ. She's hysterical right now. We just ran up to Lake Cyrus to look at a dog that wasn't Buddy once again. This was the people from yesterday. I had gotten an anonymous phone call (at 5:45 AM!!) that these people had a dog in their backyard the last couple of days that looked like Buddy. I drove up there yesterday, they weren't home so I put a flyer in their mailbox. They left a nasty message today around 6 PM telling me "your dog Buddy is here ONCE again and we would appreciate it if you picked him up IMMEDIATELY." I called the lady right back and she made a really weird comment about how she hopes I reimburse her for all the dog food he's eaten the last couple of months. She said this dog has been coming around their house 3 to 4 times/week for the last 7 or 8 months. I knew in my heart it wasn't Buddy but had to know (how the hell would his little shih tzu legs get him up to Lake Cyrus 3 to 4 times/week????). Sure enough, KJ & I drove up there and it wasn't Buddy. I had to take KJ w/ me because T is babysitting for neighbors down the street. Big mistake. She's been crying since we left that house. She wants to know why hasn't anyone returned him, why should somebody get to keep him, he's our pet and we paid for him, she wants him back, etc. I've been trying to prepare her for the fact that he may not be coming back, that someone else may have found him and wants to keep him. That just makes her SOOO mad. She said that's stealing.

Hmmmm. . .

Let's see. Do I have everything I need to watch KJ's class for a couple of hours today?
