"What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth." ~- Jewish Proverb
"If it's very painful for you to criticize your friends - you're safe in doing it. But if you take the slightest pleasure in it, that's the time to hold your tongue." ~ Alice Duer Miller
"When you are in trouble, people who call to sympathize are really looking for the particulars." ~ Edgar Watson Howe, Country Town Sayings, 1911
Some quotes today about gossip. T & I have been the subject of some gossip thanks to a petty fellow traveller on our recent trip. Last night I had had just about enough and called her out on it. Of course there were a lot of denials, a lot of "I don't recall's," and even a couple of out-right lies. You can say what you want about me, but don't you DARE talk out of school about my child when you don't have all the facts. I am 40 years old and feel like I'm smack dab in the middle of a really bad teenage movie like "Mean Girls."
