Old Home Night

Met Chris out for dinner tonight and saw a ton of peeps in the Mexican restaurant. Actually saw the priest from our church, Connor from lax and his mom Jill, T's softball coach and his family, and Zachary from the Tuesday/Thursday class; he was w/ his parents and Anderson & his family (Anderson was in mine and Margaret's class but left shortly before Christmas).

Had my pedi today. Just as I was at the reception desk settling up, I rec'd the call that schools were closing early. Thought I was going to miss the girls at the bus stop, there was so much traffic! All the mom's were rushing home to get their kids. Seriously, from Wal-Mart on it was bumper-to-bumper.

KJ's all packed and ready to go to Girl Scout camp tomorrow. She packed her own bag but I went thru it and added a few things/took a few things out. Both girls have a bunch of old softball socks from playing over the years. They have red Alabama clay stains all over them. I told KJ to wear the socks, if they get wet & muddy she should just throw them out at camp and put on a fresh pair. Do not bring home wet nasty socks.

T's @ the movies w/ friends and the lady down the street has asked her to baby-sit Saturday morning. T sat for her Thursday night and the neighbor has asked T if she'll be around this summer. I think the little girl really, really likes T. The mom told her that one morning after T babysat the night before, the little girl woke up saying, "Good Morning T" instead of "Good Morning Mommy."

On 3rd, ready to run home!

Only Robinson Curusoe had everything done by Friday

Dark, dreary, humid day today which is fine by me. I'm getting my pedicure this afternoon so all is well w/ the world as far as I'm concerned. If it rains tonight than hubby won't be able to go to Men's practice and he'll be forced to stay at home and spend the evening w/ his family. (insert evil laugh here)

I ordered KJ's communion invitations from a lady on-line. They arrived yesterday and are adorable. Unfortunately there were a couple of errors. The really weird thing is the proof she sent me was 100% correct. She had the date as Sunday instead of Saturday and the envelopes had our return address correct but the name was "Ann & Michael DeWitt" instead of me & hubster. I e-mailed her, she just called me back and will re-send everything. Very sweet lady; I felt bad but hey! I paid for them, they should be correct!

I'll come home after my pedi and finish my laundry. I have a huge pile on the couch that I've been working on. I read once that when Justin Timberlake is on tour, he wears a new pair of underwear each day. Right out of the package. That could easily be me.

I'm tired and ready for bed

Long night at the ballfield. KJ had a softball game @ 5:30 PM. She had a couple of incredible hits. One of them could have easily been a triple, double at the very least but for some reason the 1st base coach told KJ to stay on first. Chris & I were screaming "Run, Forest, Run!"

JV played at 5:30 PM and easily beat Vestavia. Varsity played at 7 PM and also easily beat Vestavia. Fortunately everyone played at the same fields tonight so KJ and I just grabbed chicken baskets for dinner and ate at Chris's games. I love lacrosse, I really do but I'm really ready for the season to be over. I'd like my life back. Especially after everything that happened this week. Everyone in the local lacrosse world is gossiping about the incident this weekend but they weren't there and don't know what happened. The Vestavia parents called their coach and told him to make sure his boys look out for certain players of ours. Thanks B'ham news. Appreciate it. Just put a target on those boys' backs.

I think I'm going to take my car for a good detailing tomorrow before my pedicure and get rid of all the pollen and the sand from the beach.

I'm watching Showbiz Tonight and they've had a feature on that pregnant "man" that was on Oprah. I didn't get a chance to watch the Oprah show but c'mon. Is he really a "man" if he/she started life as a woman and took testosterone pills but kept his/her reproductive organs? Weird. He/she has a utereus AND a mustache. I think I had an elderly Aunt like that.

2 Good 2 B Tru

I thought we were getting rid of T for the weekend but the other mom must have changed her mind or something. So, we're down one kid for the weekend; still have one kid. Chris has 2 lax games on Saturday; T has a lax game Sunday up in Huntsville. Depending on what time the little one gets home from Girl Scout camp, I may or may not be able to go to T's game.

I'm getting so much done today. I've done a TON of laundry, beds made, a sinkful of dishes done, swiffered, cleaned off all the kitchen counters, vaccuumed, etc. I spoke w/ Margaret for a long time today (hadn't had a chance to chat w/ her since before I left for Cabo) and I spoke w/ my sister-in-law Laurie for a long, long time.

KJ's got softball tonight, Chris has 2 lax games. Friday I'm getting a well-deserved pedicure. It's flip-flop season. I need my toesies to look good! I think I'm going to step out of my comfort zone and try a new color. I've been wearing OPI Cajun Shrimp on my toes for years (seriously! YEARS!). I think I'm going to go w/ either a really, really dark color or something really light. You just never know what will strike my fancy tomorrow.

To lax or not to lax?

Happiness is an inside job --William Arthur Ward

T has a 6:30 PM lax game tonight and KJ & I are debating whether or not to go.
Chris took her a little early so he could line the field for the girls.

KJ & I had dentist appointments today. They looked at her chipped front tooth and we decided to give a composite a try. We'll wait until after school lets out. I can't fit another thing in our already busy schedule.

Very nice & warm here today. KJ is outside blowing bubbles off the deck. I have windows open. The only problem is all the pollen. I feel like everything is covered in a fine coating of yellow gunk. I have got to get a cleaning lady in here. Tracy & I go back and forth on this: Tracy needs someone to do the little things (i.e., dustboards, etc.). I need someone to clean my bathrooms. I don't need them to change the sheets on our beds or anything like that. If I can get my bathrooms cleaned, I can do the rest. I think I want someone to come in and do a good thorough deep cleaning and I can take it from there. I also need to get my carpets cleaned before everyone comes for KJ's communion in May.

Chris has lax tomorrow (duh! what else is new??) and KJ has softball. Fortunately they're at the same sports complex.

Really looking foward to the weekend. KJ is going to girl scout camp and one of T's friends asked her to go to Nashville (or was it Knoxville) for a soccer tournament. Both kids out of the house??? Unheard of!!! Wouldn't that be the bomb? Not having to drive somebody somewhere!!!

Lucked out again

Y'all know how crazy my Tuesday nights are: KJ dance from 4 to 5:30; T dance from 6:30 - 8:45 PM. Sometimes there's a softball game/practice or 2 thrown in there for good measure and most nights Coach has lax games. Well, in anticipation of bad weather, everyone's lax games and softball games were cancelled! yay!!! We ended up having a nice family night. T & I drooped KJ off at dance and then the 2 of us walked around the new Ulta store in Patton Creek (we both agree we like Sephora better). We picked KJ up @ dance and then Chris met us for our weekly Tuesday night dinner at our favorite little Italian place. Dropped T off at dance, threw KJ in the tub and Chris & I have just been maxing and relaxing. Time to pick up T-bone.
