Where is George Jetson when you need him???

Thursday night the boys celebrated their Senior night at halftime vs. Spain Park.  Largest group of Seniors the lacrosse team has ever had:  14!  Last year, there was 1 senior.  We had both the boys and girls fill-out a little questionnaire about their accomplishments and after-high school plans to announce during half-time.  It's always impressive to hear what these student-athletes have been up to . . . GPA's, ACT scores, National Honor Society, volunteerism, student council, Math team, Debate, various academic awards, scholarships, etc.

Friday KJ and I headed to Atlanta for the big Regional volleyball tournament.  Holy Cow!  The venue was huge and a bit overwhelming but the girls had fun.  After Saturday's pool play they were ranked #1.  Sunday morning they won in a tie-breaker against CCJ (Capital City Juniors out of Montgomery) but lost in a tie-breaker to Alliance.  KJ and I decided to have a nice lunch in ATL before heading home.

Friday T-bone played against Vestavia and lost by 1.  Coach said it was a good game but kind of physical.  Apparently T got slashed and hacked to bits.  After the game Coach and T went to Joe's Crab Shack to listen to a friend's band and hang-out.  One of the boys plays lax for Coach and we have known the other boy since Kindergarten.  Coach said they were awesome!

Saturday Coach hosted a team from GA and lost but he said it was one of the best games his boys played all year.  The neat part of the game was the SWAG the two teams exchanged.  The GA coach had called Coach and mentioned that they like to bring gifts when they play out of state teams.  So Coach found a couple of shooting shirts and t-shirts and all the captains exchanged SWAG.  The GA team were Bucs too but more like Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sunday was also a big lax day.  BSC played in some kind of Championship game so of course Coach had to go watch some of his former players against Colorado.  JV also had a game and then finished up with their team party.  Whoop!  Whoop!  One party down, three or four more to go!!  T's lax party, T's Bnette Tea, KJ vball party and Varsity Boys party.

Crazy, crazy week coming up:  middle school vball meeting tonight, KJ has travel vball practice Tuesday and Thursday (Thursday is party night -- parents vs. kids).  Wednesday we have a lax double-header:  Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity.  Friday T has a game and possibly Varsity Boys too.  Saturday is our friend's son's wedding and Sunday is championship day and KJ has a b-day party.  I need lots of vitamins for the upcoming week, a case of Red Bull and a clone.  And maybe a flying car so I don't hit any traffic.  Or maybe the DeLorean used in Back to the Future???

Still No Balls

Yep. Two Christmas trees are up in the house and neither of them have balls or any type of ornamentation. Both trees have lights on them, but nothing else. We had such a busy, busy weekend it just got put on the back burner. Hopefully tonight we can have a nice family meal and then decorate the tree.

Thursday I went to see T perform at halftime of one of the basketball games. I luv, luv, luv that Christmas routine and the new costumes looked GREAT! They had a busy week: Wednesday was the bonfire, Thursday morning they had a pep rally and danced at 2 basketball games and Friday was the state championship game at Bryant-Denney. T went out with the girls Friday after the game as is their post-game ritual. Saturday afternoon they also danced at a local pageant and Saturday night she spent the night at a friends.

Not really sure what to say about the State Championship game. It was a GREAT game and I hate the loss for the seniors. The coach had a tough call to make and, although it didn't work out the way we all wanted, it was the right call. We had a lot of fun sitting with friends, the weather was perfect and I was a little sad because it was T's last football game. The night before the game I told her to "just enjoy the moment, rock the sparkley and work those boots!" One of their very last positions during the half-time show is is one hand in the air holding a long ribbon and the other hand is on their heart. While they were performing I watched her close her eyes at this point and take a deep, soulfull breath. I knew she was savoring the moment and that gave me chills. I am just so incredibly proud of her and I know she's had a lot of fun as a Bnette. She cried a little after the game but said she cried not because they lost but because it was over.

Saturday Cosmo & his little shadow finished decorating the outside and put up the rest of the lights. I did some shopping, ran a few errands and took a little power nap before we headed out to the engagmenet party. KJ was originally planning to go to the party but got invited to a friend's house at the very last minute. T met us at the party and left early to go out with friends. Had a nice time at the party, the food was wonderful, M's house looked beautiful and G&H are a very sweet couple!

Sunday we drove up to Ross Bridge to get some Christmas card photos done and Cosmo joined us for a bit on his way to his lax lesson. It was such a gorgeous day out we decided not to rush home and ended up walking around downtown and taking some photos. Cosmo called after his lesson and we met him for a late lunch at Cucina Superior in Brookwood. T was operating on about 3 hours of sleep so she came home and took a little nap and then met with friends to discuss their Spring Break 2012 plans. By the time she got home, no one felt like decorating the tree. Hence, we have no balls.

Catching a Break?

Looks like the nasty, dreary weather we've had the last couple of days is coming to an end. Finally! The sun is trying to come out and I hope we have some better weather in store for the weekend. Got a busy couple of days coming up and I don't want to be running around in cruddy weather. Tonight is the state championship bonfire at the high school (I've never been before and thought it would be something fun & memorable for T's senior year). Thursday the Bnettes will be performing their annual Christmas dance at both the pep rally and at the basketball games. One of my favorite dances of the year AND this year they got new costumes. They always do a kick-line at the Christmas dance and I luv, luv, luv a good kick-line! Friday is the championship game in Ttown (yay! get to see my girl on the field at Bryant-Denney. Last year they danced on the field at Jordan-Hare. So fun for her!) and Saturday we were invited to an engagement party. It blows my mind to think that we are at the point in our lives where our friend's children are getting engaged/married/having babies!

Daughter #2 is bound and determined to get another dog for Christmas. The other night she called a "family meeting" and gave us a detailed, 10+ page presentation on why we should get another dog (prior to her presentation, she asked T to find suitable "background music." T didn't know what the hell was going on so she played "The Final Countdown" on her laptop. It was pretty funny). Her presentation included photos, pie charts, and references in addition to three Top 10 lists (Top 10 Reasons Why we Should Get Another Dog, Top 10 Breeds Most Compatabile with Shih Tzu's and Top 10 Names for Dogs). She's also been cleaning out all of our change (from our car coin holders, the kitchen change jar, Cosmo's change jar in his closet) and plans to take it to Publix to see how much money she has. She's also asked if she can take money out of her bank account. Not gonna happen my friend. We are NOT getting another dog. No way. No how. Don't get me wrong. I love Trixie. She's a great dog. She's never chewed anything, she's calm and very snuggly. I'd love for her to have a little friend to run around with but I don't think I could handle a puppy right now . . . the chewing, the training. UGH!
