Olympic Sunday

just chillin' watching the Olympics. US women's gymnastics started a little iffy but boy! That little Shawn Johnson is a sparkplug! Her beam routine was outstanding!

Did anyone catch that big bike crash earlier today? T was downstairs watching the bike race and I had just turned on the TV upstairs but for some reason the DVR had been running for a couple minutes already. She came running upstairs and said, OMG! You have to watch this bike race! I hit rewind and we watched that girl lose control of her bike and crash into all the other riders. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, the poor thing lost her water bottle and ended up in like a 5 foot ditch! I had the giggles really really bad and we just kept rewinding it, adding our own sound effects as she wobbled and then crashed. I made Chris come downstairs and watch it and KJ heard us laughing so hard so then we had to rewind it for her. I know, I know. I have a twisted sense of humor.

Why does it seem like the American gymnasts always choke? They managed to come back but boy, it was seriously iffy for awhile. Plus, their heavy-hitter in the uneven bars didn't even get to go on to the individual competition. And what's with all the injuries to both the men and the women? Sheesh.

And I saw the fall. It didn't look awful until you realized the Korean biker was in that ditch. But can you imagine riding along the Great Wall? That must have been amazing. I would have been gawking around rather than racing.
