Bee & Barr

Oh dear.  Twitterverse is totally blowing up on this one and it's so ugly.  Both sides, both parties, both "comedians" are wrong.  And here's my reasoning as to why:
  • Roseanne's tweet was 100% racist and a personal attack on Valerie Jarrett.  End of discussion.  There is no getting around that.  And countering with "What about what Samantha Bee said regarding Ivanka Trump?" is so, so wrong on so many levels.  Totally different.  One comment is racist, the other is just distasteful.  Neither is funny.
  • Should Roseanne's show have been cancelled?  IDK and IDC.  Watched it in the 80's (?) or 90's (?); haven't watched it in '18.  People, especially those in Hollywood, say stupid stuff all the time and they are still on my TV, on my radio and on movie theater screens across the world.  I feel bad for the cast and crew members who lost their incomes over her stupidity...the catering crew, the lightening folks, hair and make-up, the lowly production assistant.
  • Samantha Bee's on-air comment was 100% offensive to women everywhere.  Just disgusting.  I have a mouth like a truck driver/drunken sailor and drop F-bombs on the regular.  However, you will NEVER, EVER hear me use that word.  NEVER.  To me personally, that word is the worst insult someone could hurl at a woman.  It is only said to a woman in the most disrespectful, repulsive, vicious way possible.  It is never said as a compliment.
  • Should her show be cancelled?  IDK and IDC.  I've never seen her show.  However, I do like the word "feckless."  http://www.dictionary.com/browse/feckless?s=t

There are actually loads of particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a nice point to carry up. I supply the ideas above as basic inspiration however clearly there are questions just like the one you deliver up where the most important factor might be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged around things like that, but I am positive that your job is clearly recognized as a fair game.
