Since there are several competitive volleyball teams in the area, girls try-out for all the different teams, see what squad they made and then commit to a team. So, in KJ's case, she made the "middle level" squad for her age group. However, there are now a couple of vacancies on the next higher level squad because some girls decided to play on one of the other local teams. So now tonight she has "re-evaluations." She won't move "down" but there's a possibility she may move up. Since this is our first year doing this, I'd almost prefer her to stay where she is. We're new at this and I have no idea what to expect.

Club/Competitive/Travel Volleyball
Last night Cosmo took KJ to uniform fittings for the travel volleyball team. I'm really looking forward to spending some one-on-one quality time with KJ but holy cow! This is going to cost a small fortune! I'm dead serious. I think this is going to end up costing the same, if not more, as a year of Buccanettes. Last night two of the other mom's texted me and said, "Holy Shit!! How am I going to pay for this???" I guess we'll all just have to agree to not eat out each night of the tournaments (there's nothing worse than having another parent say, "Hey! We're all going to Ruths Chris steakhouse for dinner!"), pack snacks and drinks, share hotel rooms or at least car pool.
