"Every good act is charity. A man's true wealth hereafter is the good that he does in this world to his fellows." -- Moliere

I've been investigating charities that the girls and I can get involved in and have come across a couple that sound promising. We've always done the Angel Tree at the holidays or Toys for Tots, I donate blood, we donate our used clothing/household items to the Salvation Army or Hannah Home and I always support friends/family in "Thons" (i.e., walk-a-thons, marathons, etc.). And of course, I also support the Girls Scouts by purchasing as many boxes of Thin Mints and Do-Si-Dos as I possibly can afford. But those things really don't require much effort and sometimes leave me empty. I feel like all I did was shop and throw a couple of extra items in my grocery cart. I'd like to get more involved and I'd like to find something that I'm passionate about or "good at" (reading, helping children in need). KJ & I are very sensitive and very emotional and I don't think either one of us can handle one-on-one volunteer time at a local homeless shelter or hospital. Or a animal clinic. She'd want to bring home all the dogs.
