Sunday Serenity

Woke up this morning around 7:30 AM and since I was alone and it was nice and quiet, I read for a long time. KJ came downstairs and got in bed w/ me for a little while. I love when she does that. Wonder how much longer that will last? She's my snuggler fo' sho'.

Chris is on his way back home from his ATL tournament. They didn't do as well as he would have liked. This all-star team is very young. He lost a lot of seniors to graduation and kind of has to start all over again. He had a great defensive line and he's feeling the loss of his "4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse" -- Bryan in goal, Grant, Jacob & Conor as long poles. College coaches from Harvard, Drexel and Loyola were there scoping out the boys (that sounded a little creepy, didn't it??).

Hot again today. What else is new? This is the month of August in the deep South. T went to the pool for a little while; KJ & I haven't left the house. I'm dreading stepping out on the back porch to put the steaks on the grill. I've been doing a ton of laundry today and trying to catch up. I've just accepted the fact that catching up on laundry is damn near next to impossible.

The girls have 4 days before school starts. T is so pissed. KJ is very excited to meet her teacher tomorrow but T is just so aggravated about the whole education thing disrupting her summer. If she doesn't find some appropriate shoes to wear to high school, she may just be going barefoot.
