Olympics Update

So last night was the uneven bars individual competition and the US athlete won the silver in a really weird tie-breaker situation. I don't necessarily like this young lady, I don't think she comes across as a gracious winner (or loser), but I do think she was better than the Chinese gymnast who won.

I watch the Today Show pretty regularly and luv Matt & Al (did I ever tell you about the time I met Al in the Bahamas???). They always test a new sport at the Olympics (who can forget the sight of Al Roker and Matt doing the luge at the winter Olympics??). I didn't catch the beginning of the segment but I think the event is called Rhythmic Gymnastics. They use a ribbon, a hoop and a rope. Matt & Al did a routine to the song Dream Weaver and I was laughing so hard. I'm the only one in the house and I am totally cracking up outloud!

Also on the Today Show was a segment w/ martial arts star Jet Li. Very interesting story. He's originally from Beijing but was in the tsunami holding his daughter in his arms when they were rescued. He has since they started a charitable organization in conjunction w/ the Red Cross and have raised $15 million to date. Right now they are concentrating on the recent earthquake victims. Ann Curry asked him, "what do you hope to get out of this?" and he said, "I don't hope to get anything; I hope to give."
